What is the NWWomensBizNetwork?
The NW Women's Virtual Business Network (NWWomensBizNetwork; see it at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/NWWomensBizNetwork/) is a virtual networking space for women who take their professional lives seriously. It's an easy, positive, and friendly way to connect with other women in business, at your own convenience and in a private forum. There is no need to dress up, load the pockets with your business cards, or brace yourself for meeting a bunch of strangers while trying to remember a clever introduction for yourself.
What is the purpose of the NWWomensBizNetwork?
The purpose of the NWWomensBizNetwork is to connect and network with other women in a safe and friendly business environment. It is the place to share information and ideas, sell the products or services you provide, and find products and services which you − or a friend or a family member or a client − may need. We can also invite each other to actual networking events in the physical plane (read: in real space and time), or tell other members about valuable resources in the virtual environment (know any great web sites?).
It is THE PLACE for networking on as grand or as modest a scale as you wish.
Who are the members of the NWWomensBizNetwork?
The NWWomensBizNetwork is open to female members in good standing of all approved organizations, including WEO (PDX) and WEO (Washington), among other women's networking groups.
How do I submit messages to the group?
Members are invited to submit messages to the group by either sending your email to NWWomensBizNetwork@yahoogroups.com or by visiting the group site on Yahoo and using the message form. Once approved by the moderator, the messages are sent to the group.
What types of messages are appropriate?
Members may ask questions, share resources, request feedback, offer products or services, announce milestones, invite others to events, or engage in any other appropriate business communication. Jokes, petitions, and other material deemed inappropriate for this professional forum will not be approved.
Will I get SPAMMED if I join?
NO! Your email addresses are only visible to other members of the group, and never to any outside viewers. Only members are allowed to see or read your emails and your email address. The NWWomensBizNetwork is a private, invitation-only moderated list-serve, so you'll NEVER receive unwanted emails as a result of participation.
Will I get a lot of messages?
Depending on activity and participation level, you may receive many emails every day from the group, so it is suggested that you choose the Daily Digest option for receiving emails from the group. That way, you receive just one message a day from the group, and you can quickly scan the subject lines (which are all listed at the top of the digest messages) to see if there is anything of interest to you in the day's messages.
What do I have to do to join?
Membership in the group requires signing up at Yahoo.com. It is a simple, free, and non-invasive process that takes just moments. Once you are a Yahoo member, you can join the group.
How many members do you expect to have in the group?
